Pastor Gilbert Toquero went to be home with the Lord on September 3. But he left behind a testimony of a life and legacy of Missions. Pastor Gilbert was a Pastor of pastors, encouraging hearts and challenging lives to reach the world for Christ and fulfill the great commission. His influence was felt around the world.

Pastor Gilbert served on the Asian Baptist Clearinghouse for 13 years. He led La Loma Baptist Church to be one of the premier givers of missions in the Philippines.

To honor this Man of Vision, the Asian Baptist Clearinghouse would like to challenge missionaries, pastors and individual donors to give toward a Memorial Fund that would enable the planting of one more church in the Philippines. Pastor Gilbert’s heart was focused on Sta Maria, Bulacan as the next planting effort of La loma Baptist Church. This was his last desire before going home to be with the Lord. There is already property purchased in Santa Maria, Bulacan and the opportunity to build a building is within their reach.

We will be presenting the memorial gift to the church on December 26th on the birthday of Pastor Gilbert. Please make this a joyful time of celebration and thanksgiving for a life that touched so many around the world.
